Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Karine Garcetti announced the dismissal of Fire Captain Kristina Krauli. This decision was made after a complaint was raised regarding the fire department, which stated that Krauli did not respond adequately to allegations of discrimination within the organization.
At this moment, it is not disclosed what specific incidents or accusations led to the dismissal of Kristina Krauli. However, the Bureau of Civil Service began an internal investigation into this matter.
"Our fire department informed me about a complaint against one of its employees, and I take this very seriously. In light of this, I believe that the dismissal of Kristina Krauli is a necessary step to ensure the safety of our employees and the community," stated Karine Garcetti.
This is already the second major dismissal in the Los Angeles Fire Department in recent months. Last month, the head of the fire investigation division, John Tripp, resigned after being accused of disseminating racist posts on social media.
